Low Down Payment Mortgages in Trouble

Mortgage insurer MGIC Investment Corp reported a wider quarterly loss and said it will stop writing new business as losses mount in the battered housing sector.  The company’s losses thus far in 2009 total $524.4 million compared to $134.4 million last year.
